The Warriors U11s are looking to finish their UAERF league season on a high, with both squads winning their league semi finals at the Polo Club on Friday to secure a spot in their respective finals to be played at the end of January.
The Warriors U11A team hosted Abu Dhabi ‘Quins, and managed to hold a clean sheet, keeping the Quins off the scoreboard with a 35-0 win. James Bermingham was named Man of the Match for leading a dominant forward pack which secured numerous tightheads scrums to help the team control possession throughout the game. The forward dominance was backed up by fine performances from fly-half Marcus Kruger and winger Lachlan Rubens.
The B squad played in the second match of the day against Knights 2, a repeat of the previous week’s encounter in the pool stages. The Warriors came off the pitch winners at 20-5, with two scything runs from Man of the Match Tareq Menaad which had him cross the try line helping to secure the team’s path to the final. The forward pack made big gains, with Marcus Tambling carrying the ball forward well for the Warriors. A great display of tackling from backline players Declan Doherty and Alex Clark kept the Knights from closing the points gap before the final whistle sounded.
