Warriors U13 travelled to Abu Dhabi Harlequins for the first ever league match for the Warriors which kicked off at 9am on Friday 27th September 2013. Although Warriors suffered a defeat of 52 points to 10, coach Duncan Walker was upbeat about the squad’s inital performance, and is positive they have laid a great foundation for the squad to build upon. Happy with the respectable finish in which Warriors scored two tries and held Abu Dhabi off their try line for the last 15 minutes of the match, Duncan returned to Dubai singing the praises for the team that is now starting to work togerther as a unit, and understands what is expected of each other to progress and seriously challenge the other top teams in the league.
Special mention must be made of Gwilym Hopkin for scoring Warriors’ first ever try, and for Theo Mallevre for receiving the team’s Man of the Match award for a superb performance on game day.
