The Warriors U12 Rugby Squad Toured England in April 2015, and after a short stop at Twickenham, headed west to Somerset, Worcestershire and Dorset. The following article is taken from the online blog of the tour:
The Warriors U12 tour squad played in the Brean Sands Rugby Festival at Hornets RFC over the weekend and finished the league in 3rd place, behind Treorchy Zebras and Keynsham RFC.
The results were Won 3, Drew 1, Lost 4, so we ended up mid table. Sticky clay pitches with little grass became rock hard when the sun came out, but we made it through in good shape. Was good to see the standard we play in Dubai is similar at this age grade, with a little more emphasis on forward domination in the UK. The boys are having a great time, if only a little colder than they’re used too!
The Agenor Warriors U12 Tour ventured north to Worcestershire today, where they played a trio of matches against Worcester RFC (we won 23-5), Hereford RFC (we lost 7-5) and Stratford on Avon RFC (we won 35-5). For the post match meal the boys were welcomed to Sixways Stadium – home of Worcester Warriors. Good rugby today boys.
The Warriors U12 played an evening game against Bridgwater Albion RFC last night. We came away clear winners by a wide margin and the game was concluded in a jovial manner. The hosts graciously gave each player a scarf, as we were all freezing despite the clear weather, and we’re now starting to gather memorabilia for a future clubhouse.
The U12 Tour descended on Bath today, with a tour of The Rec ground, home of Bath Rugby, followed by an Academy training session.
After a packed lunch we were welcomed to Lambridge, the old Bath training ground and played our final midweek tour match against Bath U12s. We lost the match 30-15, against a well organised and physical Bath side.
Once again the post match hospitality was superb – Thank you Bath Youth RFC.
The Agenor Warriors U12s kicked off their final tour weekend today with 5 wins out of 5 at the Poole and Bournemouth Rugby Festival. We took a while to get up to full intensity, but managed to secure a win in all the games. We’re placed first in the league with the same set of matches again tomorrow. More of the same and we’ll be singing our way back home on Monday.
